About Me
They say that nothing worth doing is easy. Like every one of us, I’ve had my bumps in the road. But if you ask me, I’ll always tell you that I wouldn’t change a thing. Why? Because throughout my journey I’ve honed my skills and proven that my services get results in the real world. So today, you can benefit from my years of experience.
My Story
One of my best friends once asked me, "How did a Purser on a Cunard Cruise Ship end up running a $300M project in California?" I replied, "The real question is how did an Italian Artillery Lieutenant end up on a ship?".
My journey has been anything but ordinary, taking me from Rome to Australia to California and over 100 other countries, with one constant: my insatiable interest in expanding the human experience.
I was born, raised, and educated in Rome, Italy, where my family still lives. After completing my studies in Tourism and Languages, I joined the Italian Army and, at the age of 20, became an officer, later serving as an artillery battery commander in the Italian 5th Regiment.
After completing my service, I returned to Rome to pursue career opportunities that would allow me to travel the world. That opportunity came when I was working in a downtown Rome hotel and Princess Cruises recruited me to become a purser on their ships. I ended up in Australia, where I lived for three years before achieving my dream of becoming a Cunard Officer. My career with Cunard spanned over four years, ultimately culminating as Chief Purser. On board, I met my wife, and we sailed together for two years before she became pregnant. It was time to settle down and raise a family, so we chose San Diego.
I restarted my career in the hotel business, first with Four Seasons, then Hilton. I was then recruited by Aegis Living, a luxury senior living company based in Seattle, where I quickly climbed the ranks to VP of Operations and Strategic Board Member.
After seven years at Aegis, I was asked to found a new hotel management company to take over management at the HGI Carlsbad Beach and oversee the development of the brand-new Hilton Carlsbad Oceanfront (now called Cape Rey). My knowledge base continued to expand, and after five years running my own management company, I seized the opportunity to join a new partnership aimed at acquiring and managing hotels and multifamily buildings. Early in this endeavor, I had the opportunity to consult for the $200M development of the Breakers Hotel in Long Beach and the $80M development of the Ocean Center Building. A few months later, I was asked to join as VP of Real Estate and Hospitality. Over the next seven years, I handled every aspect of both developments, including engaging Fairmont to brand and manage the Breakers Long Beach.
Today, I am ready for new adventures and to bring my knowledge, expertise, and leadership abilities to your organization.
My driving force is to have meaningful relationships with the people I work and share my life with. My hope is to make a positive difference in someone's life. My passion is to learn at every given opportunity. My love is my family, the reason I get up every day and do what I do. Most importantly, they keep pushing me to achieve bigger and better things with each new challenge.
